We’re on the lookout for a community cast
Professional dance company Lila Dance will be performing The Hotel Experience on Saturday 1 December at Holsworthy Memorial Hall, and we invite YOU to be a part of this spectacular dance theatre performance.
Following the huge success of The Deluge, Lila Dance return to North Devon.
A man checks into a hotel the night before his wedding unaware that things may not be as they seem. As the clock ticks the walls around him seem to blur and dissolve as fragments of memories tumble into the room in the form of past lovers. A high energy, physically enthralling, contemporary dance show.
We are looking for up to 20 members of the community from age 13 to 80 to take part in a small section of the performance, alongside the four professional dancers. Ideally we would like a mixed age range. No dance experience is needed, just an ability to be able to move and a desire to take part. (However, previous dance experience will of course be welcomed.)
The community cast participation element is a fun upbeat party section of the piece and will be approximately 5 mins in length, forming part of the full length professional production.
You must be able to commit to two free-of-charge workshops with Lila Dance, in order to prepare the performance material, which will be physical theatre based. These will be held on Monday 26 November and Tuesday 27 November from 5pm – 8pm (3hrs) on both days in Holsworthy (venue to be confirmed).
You must also be able to commit to a dress rehearsal and the public performance on Saturday 1 December at Holsworthy Memorial Hall from 4.45pm until the end of the evening show (performance commences at 7.30pm).
Please sign up to express your interest by 19 October. If we are over-subscribed for the event, we will select participants at random according to age ranges.
